About Reactor Sizing (CSTR)

Reactor sizing is a critical step in chemical process design. For a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR), the volume is determined from the flow rate of reactant, reaction rate constant, concentration, and desired conversion.

The formula for CSTR sizing is:

V = (FA × X) / (k × CA0 × (1 – X))

Where:

CA0 = Initial concentration (mol/m³)
